Hilston Jason Ross, Ph.D., earned his degree in Political Theory from Georgetown University in 2008.  Dr. Ross is a recipient of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute's Weaver Fellowship, and of the Humane Studies Fellowship sponsored by the Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University.  He earned a Masters Degree in Public Policy from Pepperdine University's School of Public Policy (2001); at Pepperdine University he was honored as a Hanson Scholar and a Fletcher Jones Scholar.  He had an appointment at the Hoover Institution as a Public Affairs Fellow during the summer of 2000.

Dr. Ross’ research interests are in American political theory and the American Founding and the intersection of religion and politics, and he has experience teaching courses in the history of political thought and in American government.  His dissertation research was focused on the role of Protestantism in shaping the ideology of the American Revolution.
