Mary Alice Dennis earned the Masters Degree in Nursing-Public Health Nursing, and a BS in Nursing from the University of Florida College of Nursing. She is Coordinator for Research Programs at the University of Florida Diabetes Center of Excellence. She has served in responsible positions at the University of Florida since 1983 where she now coordinates research on Type 1 Diabetes.
Mrs. Dennis began her career in nursing in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units working at both UF and Duke University Medical Center. She has been a member of the American Nurses Association Council on Staff Development, the Florida Association of Public Health Nurses, and the American Public Health Association. She has been a volunteer in a community-based agency providing services to the homeless. Her hobbies include reading, especially mysteries, cooking, spending time with family and friends and enjoying the beautiful and varied outdoors in North Central Florida.
